YESTERDAY WE WATCHED---->
You should watch it too! (There is like 5 parts or something)
From the video I feel that I really got a grounding on a process that will help lead me to the creation of new designs. Our current project is a project where me must find something that we find poorly designed. As my object I chose a plunger with a very very small handle. From that object we are going to redesign it using similar processes that IDEO did with their Nightline shopping card project. We will break into groups and brainstorm and pick one of our object to prototype after we brainstorm thoughts, ideas, and designs. Some of the designs that I have come up with involve making the handle longer because I found that the most poorly degined part of the plunger. I also decided that because the "The Little Red Jr. Plunger" is intended to be able to fit somewhere small and be stashed away that I will attempt to end with a product that will fit in the same if not smaller area as the original design. I have also come up with a new grip for the handle that allows users to use less force with a diffrent muscle group to the get the same effect if not better effect as the originol plunger.
As soon as I get out of the stone age and learn how to use my scanner I will put my original design sketches up along with my prototype idea sketches.
